Process Orphan

A process orphan is an informal term used to describe a process left outside of an organization’s process management or matrix. They don’t have a clearly defined owner, nor are they managed in any sensible way. Most orphan processes are latent, meaning that few (if any) people within an organization are even aware of their existence.
